Swain County Man Facing Animal Cruelty Charges
A Swain County resident now faces charges after being caught on surveillance video throwing a puppy out of a car window. The incident happened last Friday, shortly before 11 a.m., in front of the PAWS animal shelter on Lemons Branch Road in Bryson City. Promptly responding to the situation, the magistrate’s office issued a criminal summons.
The 35-year-old individual, whose identity has not yet been disclosed by the Bryson City Police Department, is facing two significant charges: cruelty to animals and abandonment of an animal. Court documents indicate that the suspect is slated to make a court appearance in Swain County on September 26th.
