Student Falls From Second Story Railing at Scotts Creek
At approximately 11:15 Monday morning, a seventh-grade student at Scotts Creek School in Sylva fell from the second-story railing in the school’s lobby. The principal, school resource officer, and school nurse responded immediately. Emergency services were dispatched, and the student’s family was notified. The student was transported by ambulance to Harris Regional Hospital in Sylva, then taken by helicopter to Mission Hospital in Asheville. No further details are available at this time.
