Kidnapping Among Other Charges For Whittier Man

Jonathan Thomas Rebolledo, age 21, from Whittier

A man from Jackson County is facing multiple charges following accusations that he unlawfully confined a woman.

Jonathan Thomas Rebolledo, aged 21, from Whittier, was arrested on charges including one felony count of second-degree kidnapping and misdemeanor charges for assault on a female, interfering with emergency communication, resisting a public officer, and false imprisonment.

According to court documents, the incident took place on October 29, when Rebolledo allegedly prevented the victim, a female who was at least 16 years old, from leaving his camper. He purportedly assaulted her by striking her in the face.

Additionally, Rebolledo is accused of obstructing the victim’s ability to report the crimes by taking away her phone, preventing her from contacting emergency services or any other outside agencies.

The charges further state that Rebolledo hindered the investigation by providing false information to Sheriff’s Deputy Zach Stiles. When Stiles attempted to investigate, Rebolledo reportedly claimed that the victim was not present in his trailer.

Second-degree kidnapping is considered a Class E felony, which could result in a prison sentence ranging from 15 to 63 months, depending on any prior convictions.

As of the time of this report, Rebolledo was being held at the Jackson County Detention Center on a $75,000 secured bond.
