JCPS Could Be Getting A Makeover
Jackson County Public Schools could be getting a makeover. School officials presented a plan to county commissioners, at the board’s August 8th work session, seeking grant money from the North Carolina Needs Based Public School Capital Fund in the hope of offsetting the costs of some much-needed upgrades to the county’s schools. If awarded the funds, the county would be required to provide a 15 percent match.
Commissioners voted unanimously, at last weeks (August 16th) regular meeting, to provide JCPS with the matching funds should they win the grant.
