Traffic Stop Leads To Stolen Vehicle from TN
On Tuesday September 5th around 9:45pm, Deputy Kyle Johnson attempted to make a traffic stop on NC 107. Deputy Johnson initiated his blue lights and siren, however the Driver Zachary Chase Wood, continued at a high rate of speed and ran the stop light at the North entrance to NC 1002. The vehicle finally pulled over in a gravel lot on NC 1002. Mr. Wood was arrested and further investigation determined the vehicle was stolen earlier that evening from Erwin, Tennessee.
After conformation with Erwin Police Department Lieutenant Bennet that the vehicle was stolen, Mr. Wood was charged with Felony Flee to Elude Arrest with a Motor Vehicle, Felony Possession of Stolen Goods, Infraction for Failing to Stop at a steady Red Light.
Mr. Wood was given a $100,000.00 bond.
