Scholarship Fund Gets Boost

On behalf of the Robert P. Holding Foundation, Darren Morton (right), Institutional Consultant for First Citizens Bank Institutional Wealth, presents a scholarship donation to Dr. Don Tomas, SCC President, last month at Southwestern’s Jackson Campus.

The First Citizens Bank Endowed Scholarship Fund has received a noteworthy boost, with the recent addition of $25,000 from the Robert P. Holding Foundation. This contribution has elevated the total value of the scholarship fund to over $80,000, ensuring increased opportunities for deserving students to receive financial assistance at SCC in the coming years. Named after Robert P. Holding, a key figure in the establishment and growth of First Citizens Bank since its inception in 1898, the foundation’s commitment to supporting students has become an annual tradition.

Expressing gratitude for the ongoing support, Dr. Don Tomas, President of SCC, highlighted that this marks the third consecutive year of significant investment from the Robert P. Holding Foundation. The impact of this contribution extends to a broader spectrum of students, facilitating their educational pursuits.

Open to all students attending SCC, the First Citizens Bank Endowed Scholarship continues to play a vital role in fostering academic aspirations.
