Swain County Schools Food and Nutrition Director Jennifer Brown has been named a NC Child Hunger Hero Award winner by the No Kid Hungry NC organization. The No Kid Hungry NC organization sponsors the awards across the state to give recognition to everyday heroes who make healthy meals possible for kids. Ms Brown is the driving force behind Swain County programs such as Summer Lunch, Grab and Go Breakfasts as well as finding ways to expand the Free Breakfast Program to all students. Ms Brown will be recognized at the NC Child Hunger Leaders Conference on Wednesday, February 19, 2020, which will be held in Chapel Hill.
