Reports that a student had a weapon on a Jackson County school bus had police on high alert. Jackson County Public Schools said in a Facebook post Monday afternoon, February 6th that Smoky Mountain High School and Fairview School administrators received a report that a student on Bus 33 had a weapon. Multiple law enforcement officers were dispatched to secure the bus and ensure no one was in danger, and after a thorough search, no weapons were found and the bus was allowed to complete its route according to the official statement. The investigation is continuing.
