During the July 12th, 2023 town board meeting in Sylva, David Noland is expected to be re-appointed to another term on the ABC Board.

At the June 7 meeting, the Jackson County Board of Commissioners reappointed David Noland to serve an additional three-year term on the ABC Board. His term is set to expire on June 30, 2026.

Additionally, Noland was voted to an additional one-year term as Chair of the ABC Board, which will expire on June 30, 2024. He initially assumed the chair position in 2020.

Reviewing the data provided by the ABC Board, the liquor and mixed beverage sales in Jackson County’s ABC stores amounted to approximately $7.6 million.

A portion of these funds is allocated to law enforcement, with the county receiving $16,000 and Sylva receiving $10,650. Another $55,000 was designated for alcohol education. Salaries and benefits for ABC Board employees amounted to $369,000.
