Local Business Supports Rotary Efforts
Cassie and George Neslen of Creekside Oyster House & Grill made a presentation of $1,600 to Rotary Club of Sylva co-Presidents Jim Montsigner and Nancy McConnell. The money comes from a portion of Creekside profits on October 23rd and will go to the Rotary Polio Fund. When Rotary and its partners formed the effort to End Polio in 1988, there were 350,000 cases of polio in 125 countries every year. Today, we have reduced polio cases by 99.9 percent, and just two countries continue to report cases of the wild poliovirus: Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The Rotary Club of Sylva greatly appreciates Creekside Oyster House & Grill and all those who took part in this fundraiser to help continue the work to end Polio.
