K-9 Plays Crucial Role in Meth Case
A man has been apprehended and is now facing multiple charges following a recent investigation where a k-9 unit played a crucial role. The Jackson County Sheriff’s office reported that deputy Austin Holland was conducting an investigating for a reported larceny case involving an employee in the cashiers area on September 8th. While conducting his investigation, deputy holland encountered Maverick Bruce Hernandez, who was subsequently identified as the prime suspect in the larceny.
Deputy holland deployed his k-9 partner, Ares, in the vicinity of Hernandez’s vehicle. As per an official post from the sheriff’s office, “k-9 Ares detected something suspicious in the vehicle, leading to a subsequent search that resulted in the discovery of around 7 grams of methamphetamine, various pieces of drug paraphernalia, stolen property, and a firearm. ” Hernandez has been charged with possession with the intent to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia.
