Homemade Gunpowder Accident Leaves Franklin Man Hospitalized
A man was “severely” hurt in an explosion at his home in the N.C. mountains early Friday. The man’s wife said he was making gunpowder when she heard a loud boom at their residence on Ralph Taylor Road in Franklin, according to a FB post on Friday from the Macon County Sheriff’s Office. He was rushed to a local hospital with life threatening injuries. Making black powder is legal if it’s for personal use, according the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. No details were disclosed about the victims condition.
