A fight with a friend ended with a Cullowhee man facing felony assault charges. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said a knife or some other sharp object was drawn following an argument between the two men, but they’re not sure what the dispute was about. Jair Antonio Sanchez, 20, and his friend, Philip Dago, were injured as a result of the altercation and were taken to area hospitals for treatment of stab wounds and cuts, according to court documents. Dago does not have any pending charges at this time. Sanchez was booked into the Jackson County Detention Center and held in lieu of a $50,000 bond Wednesday.
