Last week, the Jackson County Department of Public Health made an announcement on their Facebook page regarding the retirement of Director Shelley Carraway. Ms. Carraway has dedicated 25 years to her illustrious career, and her retirement officially commenced on October 1st. To fill the role temporarily, Deputy Health Director Anna Lippard will step in as the interim director. In their Facebook post, the JCDPH lauded Carraway as a “courageous and visionary leader” and extended their best wishes for her future endeavors.
Notably, Ms. Lippard brings with her a wealth of experience in public health, spanning 14 years. She has previously held positions as the deputy public health director, health services manager, and health education supervisor within the department.
