Road closures will be imminent during several upcoming events in downtown Sylva over the next few months. The Town Board has approved five upcoming special events that will shutdown West Main Street next month for a couple of affairs, including on Halloween for Treat Street. And, the annual Western Carolina University Homecoming Parade and the Veterans Day Parade, both in Nov., will also impact traffic.
Heading into the holidays, the Christmas Parade is planned for Dec. 4, along Chipper Curve Road, which will be closed.
