Next week is Child Passenger Safety Week and Safe Kids-Jackson County is participating by holding a child car seat safety check event on Saturday, Sept. 24. It takes place at the Smoky Mountain High football field lower gate from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Technicians are available for families to make sure their car seats and booster seats fit their children properly and that the seats are correctly installed in vehicles.
