Cullowhee, N.C. – Making his season debut in the Catamount backfield, redshirt sophomore quarterback Taron Dickens threw for a career-high 582 yards and matched the school record with six passing touchdowns as Western Carolina rode a 29-point third quarter to a 50-35 victory over Samford in its Southern Conference opener Saturday at E.J. Whitmire Stadium / Bob Waters Field.
