Khalen Saunders Thanks Swifties for Donations by Learning Brother Kam’s ‘Bejeweled’ Dance: ‘It Was the Least I Could Do’
Best believe these brothers are still bejeweled.
During The End of an Era, Taylor Swift’s fan-favorite dancer Kam Saunders revealed that his brother – NFL player Khalen Saunders – bought Kam’s ticket to fly to the initial audition for the Eras Tour. First, Khalen made a post on social media joking: “All the Swifities thanking me for buying Kam that plane ticket but ain’t nobody asked me what I want for Christmas.”
Then, the donations started rolling in. In another post, Khalen noted that his original post had many comments saying they donated $13 to his charity – Original Element – to pay him back. “I decided let me you know check in on my foundation donation page and maybe 10, 15 people donated. I was very wrong,” he said in the video, flashing an amount of over $7,000. “And this number just keeps going up. Y’all have paid the plane ticket back. I promise. Thank you, I’m good.”
He added in writing: “BRUHHHH WHAT IS GOING ON??? WOW. Thank yall so much. I truly am so grateful to have support like this. I can assure you that every single one of these dollars will be poured right back into the community! #swifties yall really showed out! All love.”
But wait, there’s more! A follow-up post showed the amount had risen to more than $21K, and showcased Khalen doing Kam’s dance from the Midnights portion of Eras. “When Swifties loaded your foundation so you gotta learn your brother’s solo from ‘Bejeweled,’” the video noted, with Khlaen captioning it: “I feel like it was the least i could do. you can barely tell the difference from me and @kamnsaunders tbh.”
Saunders’ Original Element Foundation supports inclusivity in sports – particularly in regards to LGBTQ+ allyship. (And on a related note, prior to Swift meeting her now-fiancée Travis Kelce, Saunders played with the tight end on the Kansas City Chiefs from 2019 to 2022.)
