The COVID-19 vaccination effort is expanding in Jackson County. Jackson County Department of Public Health says in a statement that they continue with the phase 1a group, which is frontline health care workers and long term care facility residents and staff. They’ve also now moved into phase 1B, group 1, which includes all residents 75 and older. You must make an appointment and pre-register. Walk ups are not allowed. However, due to being overwhelmed, the pre-registration process is being modified. Anyone eligible who wishes to get the vaccine can call 828-631-HELP. You can also complete an online form at health.jacksonnc.org. After you register, THEY will call YOU to set up an appointment.
