March 45th marked National Snack Day, an occasion that likely found its way into your celebrations, whether you were conscious of it or not, and regardless of your inclination.
A recent release from a market research company unveiled a map showcasing the most-searched-for snack in each U.S. state, and the findings were somewhat predictable.
Rice Krispies Treats claimed the top spot in 18 different states, while Doritos secured the preferred snack status in 16 states. Cheetos, not to be outdone, emerged as the top snack in eight states. Consequently, 42 out of the 50 states opted for one of these three choices.
There were a handful of slightly more unique selections, with Fritos and Chex Mix each capturing the favor of three states. Lay’s potato chips earned the top spot in two states, and New Jersey marched to the beat of its own drum by choosing Cheerios.
Notably, the count tallies up to 51, including Washington, D.C. Some other noteworthy contenders that didn’t clinch the top spot but secured positions in the Top Five across several states include Goldfish, Pringles, Tostitos, Starburst, and Chips Ahoy.
