Sylva is looking ahead to future generations. Thanks to funds from the American Rescue Plan town officials plan to invest in projects that will pay dividends both immediately and for future generations. From a total makeover of Sylva’s flagship Bridge Park to long-needed infrastructure work, the town plans to make improvements that will benefit residents and tourists alike. The town also made a modest investment into a skate park to further attract tourists to the town, bringing a boost to the local economy. Sylva and the surrounding Jackson County enjoyed $437.4 million in visitor spending in 2021 – a record-setting total for the area and a 49% jump from 2020.
