
Smoky Mountain High School proudly announces the appointment of
as the new Varsity Baseball Head Coach. With a distinguished career in coaching and education, Coach Plemmons brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of developing young athletes both on and off the field.
Coach Plemmons has an impressive coaching history, having served as the Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach at North Buncombe High School and Head Baseball Coach at Erwin Middle School. His leadership and dedication have guided teams to numerous victories, championships, and honors, fostering a culture of excellence and personal growth.
In addition to his coaching roles, Coach Plemmons has managed the Asheville Angels Baseball/Softball Organization, showcasing his expertise in team management and player development. His professional journey also includes significant contributions to education as a former CTE teacher at Clyde A. Erwin Middle School, where he inspired students with essential life skills and knowledge. Coach Plemmons will be joining our Jackson County Public Schools family as a CTE Teacher at Fairview School. He is blessed with a wonderful wife and two children who will be enrolled in the Jackson County School System.

His vision is to use the game of baseball as a tool to prepare young men for life’s challenges, ensuring they grow into responsible and capable individuals.
