In the Boys and Girls North Carolina High School Association 3-A State Cross Country Championship meet on Saturday North Lincoln won the boys title with a score of 106. West Henderson was the sixth place finisher with a 209 score. Franklin was the 16th place team with 368 points and Smoky Mountain was 19th scoring 420 points. The North Lincoln girls won the girls state championship with a score of 59 and an average time of 19:56.20. The second place finisher was Carboro with a score of 150 and West Henderson was third at 153. Tuscola came in 4th with a score of 166. The Smoky Mountain girls were 16th with a team score of 370.
