A Jackson County Man Has Been Indicted And Arrested On Multiple Child Sex Offense Charges Dating Back To The 1980s And ’90s. Mickey McConnel McMahan, 67, Of Sylva, Faces 24 Counts Of Felony Indecent Liberties With A Minor And Two Counts Of Taking Indecent Liberties With Children. The Charges Stem From His time with Victory Baptist Church And Victory Christian School, Where He played piano and coached basketball.
McMahan Operated High Country Tire In the Savannah Community. His Ties To Victory Baptist Church Date Back To Its Founding, With His Father Serving As A Deacon And Treasurer.
The Indictments Cover Alleged Incidents Between 1983 And 1997, With Offenses Reportedly Occurring In Various Months through those Years. McMahan Was Arrested On November 15th Following 13 True Bills Of Indictment And Corresponding Arrest Orders Issued On November 12th.
If Convicted, McMahan Could Face Significant Prison Time, With Each Class F Felony Carrying Up To 59 Months And A Requirement To Register As A Sex Offender For 30 Years. He Was Released On A $300,000 Bond And Is Set To Appear In Court On March 24th.
