Jackson Historic Places Student Art Contest
Brandon Core, Chair of the Jackson County Historic Preservation Commission, has announced the 2025 Historic Places Art Contest, open to all school-aged students right here in Jackson County.
The contest invites students to create a visual representation — that’s a drawing, painting, or other form of artwork — featuring a historic place that’s meaningful to them. It can be any structure or site in Jackson County that’s at least 50 years old, including schools, libraries, houses, bridges, cemeteries, parks, memorials, and green spaces.
Entries are due by May 20th, and the contest is part of the county’s celebration of National Historic Preservation Month.
It’s a joint effort between the Jackson County Planning Department and the Historic Preservation Commission.
