A major leadership transition is on the horizon at the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce. After decades of dedicated service, both Executive Director Julie Spiro Donaldson and Assistant Director Kelly Donaldson have submitted their resignations to the organization’s Board of Directors.
Julie Donaldson has served the chamber for 26 years, while Kelly Donaldson has contributed for 11. Both plan to continue working full-time through the July 4th, 2025, Fireworks Festivities in Sylva, helping to ensure a smooth transition.
The Chamber’s Board of Directors has already formed a search committee to find the next Executive Director. The job posting will be available soon on the Chamber’s website, mountainlovers.com, as well as other regional and national platforms.
Chamber staff will remain in place, and both outgoing directors have pledged their full support in training and preparing new leadership. They emphasize a strong commitment to continuity and maintaining the high level of service the community expects.
While stepping down from their roles, the Donaldson’s plan to remain in the area and stay active in the community. Stay tuned for updates as the search for new leadership moves forward.
