Meet Matador! Matador is a 2 year old neutered male Alaskan Husky. He weighs 59 lbs. He came in as a stray with another dog 62 days ago. He likes people, but he is also content doing his own thing. He likes head scratches and chew toys. Matador is pretty calm for a husky and will just chill in the play yards. He’s not very treat or food motivated. He came in with another dog so he should be fine with others, but meet and greets are always recommended. Please call the shelter to set up a meet and greet.

My name is SUNFLOWER.

I appear to be a female, black and white American Bulldog mix.

The shelter staff think I am about 2 years and 1 month old.

I have been at the shelter since Oct 08, 2024.

Sunflowers are often called “happy” flowers, and it's easy to see why—they can instantly brighten anyone's mood. They symbolize long life, lasting happiness, good fortune, and promising opportunities. That spirit is embodied perfectly by this incredible black-and-white Boxer/Bulldog mix we’ve named Sunflower.

Sunflower has been a wonderful guest while here. In her kennel, she stays calm, rarely barks, keeps her kennel spotless, and waits patiently for her turn to go outside and potty. She walks beautifully on a leash and greets every person she meets with unwavering joy. Her energy level is low, and she doesn't demand constant attention, making her the perfect companion.

Meet Homer! Homer is a 1 year old neutered male. He came in with a couple other dogs about a month ago as a stray. He is super sweet, but does not show well in his kennel. He takes a lot of coaxing and treats to be leashed. Once out of his kennel he is a completely different dog. He’s happy and loves to run around the play yards. He likes head scratches and giving kisses. Please give him a chance outside of his kennel! He came in with other dogs, but meet and greets are always recommended. Age: 4
Sex: Neutered male Hound mix
Weight: 44 lbs
Personality and Behavior: Chex is a sweetheart! He loves people and attention. He jumps when he is excited, but once he calms down he is a gentlemen, and just wants some loving. He loves treats and doesn’t really care for toys. Despite his past of neglect he is a happy boy ready for a loving home! He does well on a leash once he’s calmed down, but still may benefit from some basic obedience and leash training.
Dogs: He came to us with a pack of other dogs, and is very friendly through the fence, but meet and greets are always recommended.
Children: We think he would do fine with kids, but he does jump up when excited. Meet and greets are always recommended.
Cats: unknown.

Do you like big mutts and cannot lie? Then Moose may be the dude for you. This mountain cur/plott hound boy has lived in a loving home since he was a pup where he has grown up with a human brother. He's received excellent medical care, and is crate trained. We believe his housetraining will carry over to a new home, as long as the adopter pays attention to his cues and respects his schedule. Fenced in yards are a bonus so this sweet boy has the room to roam that he craves. If you have room in your home and heart, please consider adopting this Moose on the loose!

Our volunteer spent the weekend with Barkley, and here’s what she had to say:
Barkley has such a quirky and unique personality. He’s low-energy and loves to people watch. He’s potty trained but did have a few little “oops” moments while he was adjusting, mostly just marking his territory. He’s house trained and got along great with our cat. (mostly just ignored him), and was friendly with every person he met. He was friendly with our friend’s dogs, though sometimes his enthusiasm shows a bit more than expected. He’s crate-trained, quiet, and not too food-motivated. He does okay in the car and we think he’d do fine in an apartment. If you’re looking for a chill, lovable companion who’s happy to lounge around with you, Barkley might be your guy!

Tav is a young hound looking for his next adventure. He walks great on the leash, and hardly pulls! But once he has someone dedicated to spending time with him and working on training together -- we know he'll do phenomenally!

Tav loves our weekly hiking program and is polite on the leash and in the car! He loves playing in the pool over here at the rescue, and wouldn't mind a pool all his own one day! He also loves playing in the creek, and loves to splash around! We love it when his hound ears flop around when he's bouncing around the play yard, and we know you will too!
