East Main Street Storefront Sold
The Kel-Save Drugstore building on East Main Street in Sylva has been sold. Lisa McBride, the founder of “WNC-From the Ground Up”, is moving into the building under a rent-to-own agreement. McBride expects to spend the winter months doing renovations with a full opening in the spring. WNC- From the Ground Up is a federal and state-funded program designed to ensure sustainable agriculture for Western North Carolina farm families. Serving as both a collaborative for production and marketing of locally grown products to both commercial and retail customers. The added space will allow the company to expand services, which can motivate producers to extend their production seasons. One of the organization’s goals is to open a commercial kitchen which would be more feasible with the additional space. The property package could potentially include the former Krismart building and adjacent organic products store.
