Jackson County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Dana Ayers has been
approved as a new member to the Board of Directors for the North Carolina High
School Athletic Association.
The membership of the NCHSAA approved the recommendation of the Nominating
Committee on Thursday, May 2, at the Annual Meeting. Ayers will begin her four-year
term on July 1, 2024, representing Class 3A, Region 8.
Dr. Ayers has worked in education since 1999 and has been superintendent of Jackson
County Public Schools since 2021. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary
Education from Belmont Abbey, her Master’s Degree in School Administration from
Western Carolina University and her Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership from
the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Ayers looks forward to representing Region 8 and JCPS in her service on the Board
