The National Weather Service in Greenville Spartanburg is predicting snow for Thursday. An area of low pressure and a strong cold front will cross the region Thursday afternoon allowing snow to develop at higher elevations and work down toward the valley floors late. Light accumulations will be possible during the evening hours especially along the ridge tops. New snow accumulations of less that one inch are expected. In addition, very gusty winds will develop and a few downed trees will be possible.
