Boyd grew up in the mountains of Western NC. Being born in the mid 40's, radio was the only entertainment they had at home. He grew up listening to old-fashioned Gospel music, groups like the Chuckwagon Gang, the great inspirational singer Martha Carson and old-fashioned Bluegrass Gospel from Bill Monroe. Boyd joined WRGC part-time as Sunday Morning host after retiring from Rail Industry with a career over 34 years as Train Conductor. He loves talking with WRGC listeners and playing requests for them. He appreciates his listeners very much. "Without dedicated listeners, we wouldn't have radio" says Boyd. On occasion, Boyd returns to school and attends classes thru Continuing Education at AB Tech College. He likes antique cars and loves to cruise in his 1955 Chevy he's had for over 40 years. Contact Boyd Tammie was born and raised in Glenville and graduated from Blue Ridge School. She lives with her husband Jim in Cullowhee and their daughter, Amanda, who just graduated from Guilford College in Greensboro NC this spring. Home
