School Employee Terminated After Arrest in Child Predator Sting

A man who was an employee of both Macon and Jackson County Schools has been terminated after an incident involving inappropriate contact with a minor. The incident occurred in Columbus, Georgia.

William Pruit, 48 of Franklin, was a custodian and a bus driver at Smoky Mountain Elementary in Jackson County as well as a substitute bus driver in Macon County. Pruitt was arrested November 12th. He was terminated on November 13th by both school systems.

Pruitt was arrested during Operation Hidden Guardian, an undercover sting operation with the intention of capturing sexual predators online. 21 people were arrested including Pruitt.

The suspects, whose ages range from 22 to 55, allegedly traveled to various areas with the intention of meeting children for sex. Their charges include sexual exploitation of children and trafficking person for labor or sexual servitude.

Arrest records online for  Muscogee County, Georgia show that Pruitt was charged with sexual exploitation of children.
