SCC Automotive Club Car Show

Get ready to rev your taste buds and motors as Southwestern Community College’s Automotive Club hosts its annual car show at the Mountain High BBQ Festival. Join the fun on Aug. 9-10 at the Wayne Proffitt Agricultural Center in Franklin.  All makes, models and years are welcome to register for the car show. Vehicles will be separated into two categories: 1974 and older, and 1975 and newer.

Entry fees are $10 for Friday, which includes that day’s entry to the barbecue festival for one individual; $20 pre-registration for Friday and Saturday, which includes two entries to the barbecue festival on each day; or $25 per car for Saturday, which includes two entries to the barbecue festival.

First place will receive $350 as grand prize, and second place will receive $150.

“The money we raise goes into scholarship funds and into our club,” said David Myers, Coordinator of SCC’s Automotive Systems Technology program. “We hope the community comes out to support our program, and to enjoy all the barbecue, of course.”

Myers said space for the event is on a “first come, first served” basis, so contact him at d_myers@southwesterncc.edu for more information on participating in this year’s car show
