Mustang Baseball Heads Into Final Week

The Smoky Mountain High School Mustangs Baseball Team celebrated a huge non-conference win Monday at Rabun Gap Nacoochee School in Georgia by a score of 8 to 3. The Mustangs improved to 10 and 7 overall and 8-5 in league play. The Mustangs will face East Henderson at their home field in Sylva on Tuesday. The Eagles come into the game with a 5 and 16 record and 4 and 0 in conference play. The softball teams will also be playing at the Webster Field. The Lady Eagles are 10 and 10 and 3 and 10 in conference play while the Mustangs are 7 and 13 overall and 6 and 7 in conference play. The teams will travel to Franklin on Thursday for the final conference game of the season. The baseball team’s first pitch will be at 7:00 p-m under the lights and the girls will play at the conclusion of the JV Game which will start at 4:30. The baseball regular season ends on Saturday with a ten a-m game with Tuscola. The JV team will play at Noon. WRGC will broadcast the Mustangs baseball game on Tuesday against East Henderson starting around 4:00 P-M and the Thursday game at Franklin starting around 7:00 P-M.
