Lady Mustangs Still Dominant In Conference Play

Last week the Lady Mustangs faced a tough Brevard team in conference play at Sylva. The Lady Mustangs took a 7 to 5 point lead at the end of the first quarter, swelled the lead to 19 to 12 in the second quarter and led 32 to 27 at the end of the third. However Brevard found the right defensive formula and limited the Lady mustangs to just five points in the final quarter while Brevard’s offense went into overdrive with a 20 point showing. Brevard issued the Lady Mustangs their first and only conference loss. Against Franklin the Lady Mustangs came back with a vengeance willing 62 to 42. Shea Sutton led The Lady Mustangs with 19 points. Against Pisgah the Lady Mustangs had four players in double figures including Natalie Parris who turned her best offensive night of the season with 23 points. Her previous high was 21 against East Henderson.

FRIDAY the Lady Mustangs will face Hendersonville who has only two wins on the season and none in conference play. The Mustangs will need to set a fast paced game tempo in order to win because Hendersonville, in spite of their record has a pair of excellent shooters in their team.
