A Haywood County man was charged with fraud after detectives said he deceived an elderly person into believing he needed money to buy prescriptions for his sick child. Jeremy Ryan Clark a thirty year old of Canton, was arrested on Nov. 2 and served with a warrant for felony obtaining property by false pretense for knowingly defrauding $200 from a 93-year-old man. The warrant states Clark’s child was not sick, nor was the child in his custody. Deputies arrested Clark at his home without incident, and he is being held in lieu of $5,000 secured bond. His court date is set for Nov. 13.
