Grand Jury Indicts Davis

Yesterday investigators with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office presented their evidence to a Jackson County Grand Jury about the child abuse investigation involving the suspect, Eric Lorenzo Davis. On October 11th Sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of child abuse at the Qualla Motel in Whittier. When they arrived deputies found four year old Erika Davis suffering from severe bodily injuries for which she was transported to Mission Hospital. She later died of her injuries. Eric Davis was taken into custody at the scene and has been held at the Jackson County Detention Center on $1,000,000 bond. At yesterday’s hearing the Grand Jury issued Indictments against Davis for one count of First Degree Murder and two counts of Felony Child Abuse-Inflicting Serious Bodily Injury. Davis has been served his indictments and is still being held now on no bond.
