CONTEST RULES

From time to time 540 a-m WRGC sponsors contests.  Sometimes these contests are simply for tickets to a local venue or event. In these cases the rules are to be announced at the time of the contest and are to be followed explicitly.  Such as first, second, or third caller. Contestants can win prizes only once during a 45 day period.

 FIVE FORTY BROADCASTING COMPANY LLC

Five Forty Broadcasting Company is chartered through the state of North Carolina as a Limited Liability Corporation, considered to be a partnership.  The ownership of Five Forty Broadscasting Company LLC is as follows: 80% Roy Burnette who is the Managing Member of the LLC, Janice Burnette, Melvin Burnette, Karen Burnette, Anita Burnette Ware each with five percent ownership. The FCC requires a specific person as the responsible agent which in the case of  Five Forty Broadcasting Company LLC is Roy Burnette. This announcement published in accordance to the requirements of the Federal Communications Commission so the public will know the person responsible for the use of the bandwidth and airwaves as assigned by the FCC.

Get the latest news about activities being sponsored and conducted by our local nonprofit organizations, civic leaders, and elected officials. Each Wednesday, join WRGC for a special feature called Five Forty Legends. This program features interviews with local citizens whose names have been in and out of the news for the past forty, fifty years or more. Some of the past guests have included former NC Attorney General Lacey Thornburg, retired WCU Sports Information Director Steve White, Ernest and Clyde Bumgarner, also Sara Madison wife of Jim Madison grandson of the founder of Western Carolina University, also former mayor Brenda Oliver and many many more.

Community Calendar

Civic groups, churches, and nonprofit organizations are invited to submit their Community Calendar announcements to WRGC Radio. Stories may be submitted at info@wrgc.com, faxed in at 586-6834, dropped off at the studio at Skyland Drive, or mailed in at PO Box 1044, Sylva NC. Please submit announcements in about ten days prior to event to assure that your activity receives plentiful air coverage.
