A man who authorities say escaped from jail in 2014 and killed a woman while on the loose will spend the rest of his life in prison.
Charles Cochran pleaded guilty on Monday to first-degree murder in the death of 71 year old Day Williamson, whose body was found inside her burned home on Aug. 2, 2014. She died by strangulation.
Cochran was in jail on a minor trespassing charge when he escaped from the jail. During the time he was on the run, Cochran was involved with a fatal fire and a shooting.
Cochran was sentenced to life with no parole.
