Driver License and ID Services Available at 2017 N.C. State Fair

In addition to taking in the many sights and sounds of the 150th North Carolina State Fair, attendees will be able to receive driver license services from the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles. The DMV booth and Mobile RV will be located between the Dorton Arena and Jim Graham Building.

From 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Friday and on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon, the DMV RV will offer license and identification card renewal services for fairgoers to obtain their N.C. REAL ID. It is a new, single form of identification that can be used to board commercial flights and enter military bases, federal facilities and nuclear power plants. The list of documentation requirements for REAL ID will be available at the N.C. State Fair and on the DMV website. Driver licenses and ID cards are issued every eight years through age 65 and are priced at $5 per year. Citizens over 65 are issued licenses and IDs for five years. REAL ID cards for children can also be ordered for $13.

DMV staff will be available every day of the fair to answer questions about driver licenses, ID cards, vehicle registrations and titles, vehicle theft and identity fraud, as well as services that can be handled online without visiting a driver license office or license plate agency. In addition, duplicate driver licenses to replace lost or damaged credentials may be ordered at the fair for $13.

Fairgoers will also be able to pick up handbooks for motorcycle and commercial truck driving, and state maps.
