New details are emerging about a Sylva man who fell to his death while working on the roof of the Jarrett House in Dillsboro August 12th. According to his Facebook page, Cornelious “Cory” Ashe III, worked for Patriot Metal Roofing on Blanton Branch Road. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, two daughters and two sons, according to his obituary. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said a co-worker saw Mr. Ashe sliding off the roof and a call for an ambulance was cancelled, after the 54 year old was pronounced dead at the scene. Ashe was transported directly to the funeral home, police said.
