Monday, September 1 st, The Community Table will begin the 3
month trial period of changing our serving hours to closing on Sundays and
serving from 4-6 on Fridays instead. Our other hours will remain the same-
Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 4-6. If possible, please help us get the
word out about the change.
August 28-- United Community Bank Blood Drive (55 Asheville Highway; Sylva, NC) 12:00 pm to 4:30 pm. Please call 631-9600 for more information or to schedule an appointment. All presenting donors can enter a drawing for one of three $1000 gas cards! August 31-- Joint singing service at Faith Baptist church of Webster and Enon Baptist church of Brevard NC at 6pm. Everyone is invited to attend. August 31-September 5-- Victory Baptist Church Revival Services with special speaker Evangelist Tom Ferrell of Kansas City, MO. The Sunday services will be at the usual times of 10am & 11am and 6pm. Weeknight services will begin at 70m. Special music provided by the 50 Victory Baptist Church choir as well as the evangelistic team. A nursery will be provided. Everyone is invited. September 5 & 6-- FREE DENTAL CLINIC from 7 am - 5 pm at the Jackson County Community Service Building in Sylva. No appointments will be taken. Patients will be seen on a first come, first served basis. Dental services will be provided at NO cost to individuals who have dental problems and do not have financial resources to pay for a regular dentist. September 6--Jackson County Sheriff's Office Deputies Scott Buttery and Charles Crisp will be having a handgun concealed carry certification class at 8am at the Jackson County Sheriff's Office. Cost is $75.00. This class and certification is required to apply for a North Carolina Concealed Carry Permit. Please call 1-828-586-4347 to register for class and obtain list of equipment needed along with any questions answered. September 7-- Cedar Baptist Church will start Revival at 6pm. September 9-- A Hot Dog Fundraiser for Donna D. who is in St. Joseph's ICU and as of Tuesday she had a 60/40 chance of survival. Since then she has made small improvement. The fundraiser will be from 11:30 till sellout in the Sav-Mor Plaza. The plate will have a hot dog with chili and/or slaw, chips and a soda for $5.00. September 14--Homecoming at Wayside Baptist Church on Allens Branch in Sylva. September 19-- Full Spectrum Farms presents Star Light Night: A Night On The Farm Friday, September 19, from 6 – 9 p.m. The gala will benefit Full Spectrum Farms as they seek to establish a residential farm community for adults with autism in Western North Carolina. The gala will be held at Claxton Farm in Weaverville North Carolina and will include an oyster roast, low country buffet, live auction and live bluegrass music.
