Western Carolina University’s Keon Crossen is one of three Southern Conference Football Players to be nominated for the 2017 Allstate Good Works Team. Also nominated; Mercers Thomas Marchman and Samford’s Deion Pierce. The purpose of the award is to highlight the players dedication to volunteerism and enriching the lives of others. Eleven players from each football classification are selected. Players must maintain a strong academic standing and actually be involved in a charitable organization or service group. Once the final teams are chosen fans can vote for the team captains. Crossen is a senior from Garysburg, North Carolina and only missed the Chattanooga game last season while turning in a personal best 61 tackles, 43 solo stops, and received two Southern Conference Athlete of the Week Awards, one was the Defensive back of the week in November and the Track Athlete Of the Week in the winter. In High School he was a Max Preps North Carolina 1-A All State Defensive Back.
