Deputies are asking for the public’s help in solving a breaking and entering and larceny at the co-op store on Jonathan Creek Road on Christmas Eve.
Around 11:30 p.m. Dec. 24, the Haywood County Sheriff’s Office received a call reporting the break-in. Deputies arriving on scene found the front door glass of the business had been broken. Surveillance footage shows what appears to be a white male wearing black pants and a black hoodie enter the store.
A glass knife display case containing more than a hundred items of sterling silver jewelry and some knives were stolen. The jewelry included silver necklaces, earrings and rings, some with large pink stones. Many of the items were equestrian-themed, or incorporated FFA or 4H emblems.
