Music

680-WRGC is a mass appeal community radio station, so our carefully-researched music format is designed to appeal to the majority of Jackson County’s adult buying population.

It’s called Adult Contemporary: Nothing too hard...but nothing too soft, either. Contemporary artists of today along with hits from the past 25 years are featured. WRGC is the only Adult Contemporary radio station in our listening area, so WRGC has lots of long listening at work audience. The format is complimented with live and local Sylva-based announcers who know the listeners and our community.

Coverage

680-WRGC broadcasts on the choice frequency of 680 kilohertz, where AM radio signals travel much greater distances. WRGC’s coverage area of Western North Carolina includes some of the most rugged terrain in the eastern U.S. While outside FM signals are blocked by the tall mountains, WRGC’s signal penetrates the Great Smoky Mountains; many areas can only receive 680-WRGC.

The primary daytime signal covers northern Jackson County and portions of Swain, Macon and Haywood Counties. The full time nighttime directional signal serves the Sylva, Webster, Dillsboro and Cullowhee areas. Click here to see the WRGC Coverage Map.
