Income Eligibility Determination for Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP)
Jackson County Department of Social Services currently has almost $90,000.00 of LIEAP funding available for heating assistance until March 31, 2016. Please review the guidelines below to see if you may qualify.
Currently this program is open to all residents of Jackson County, regardless of age or work status, who meet the eligibility criteria.

To determine eligibility, Social Services uses actual gross income and anticipated income, both ongoing and terminated in the month received, for the application.
A household must contain a U.S. citizen or an eligible alien.
A household must be responsible for the heating expense. Payments will be made directly to the vendor/provider.
Applications will be taken daily at the Jackson County Department of Social Services, 15 Griffin Street, Sylva, through March 31, 2016, or until the funds are exhausted. Applications may be made Monday thru Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Everyone must complete an application to receive this assistance.
